SOLD - Walk on Part in a Lord Likely Adventure

Potrait reproduced with kind permission from Lord Likely

Lord Likely
has kindly donated A Walk On Part in his current adventure,
Lord Likely and the Bloody Nuisances PLUS free entry to his secret Members' Lounge, usually only reserved for those kind souls generous enough to donate to his own funds.

"About His Lordship

Lord Likely was a renowned member of the English aristocracy in the Victorian era. Tales of his exhilarating, enthralling and highly erotic exploits were legendary, but only now have his own, personal diaries resurfaced (found in a branch of Help the Aged in Swindon), shedding light on the life of this extraordinary eccentric.

Warning: these journals contain material that some people may find terribly offensive, or incredibly arousing"

Give Us A Mug *!*

When Friends of Swifty tweeted Yorkshire Radio and asked them to send us a signed mug for our charity auction we didn't expect this ugly one to drop into our inbox. Sorry Darren - only joking!

Yorkshire Radio responded to our tweet in their usual good-humoured manner, and as they have no official mugs, opted to donate a paper cup with YR written on it in felt tip pen instead!

Sticking to our slogan *** You donate it - We'll auction it! *** FOS decided to start accepting bids online at Twitter and they began to fly in.

Seeing how popular their item was proving and in the hope that it would outshine the Freddie Flintoff Signed First Day Cover, Yorkshire Radio decided to up the ante and add an official T-Shirt, signed by their very own Darren Harper! The bidding increased and currently stands with FOS Ian Kennedy (via email) at £20.00.

Bidding on this item is continuing online at Twitter right up until Saturday 26 September when our charity golf tournament and auction in aid of Manorlands Hospice takes place. With 16 days to go until the night who knows what heights this item may reach!

You can follow the bidding Friends of Swifty @friendsofswifty Yorkshire Radio @YorkshireRadio on Twitter and @chubbyewok Darren Harper

Sue Ryder Care - Manorlands Hospice

The Mark 'Swifty' Swift Annual Memorial Golf Tournament and Auction help to raise funds in aid of Manorlands Hospice where the staff helped to take care of Mark during his illness.

We asked Andrew Wood a Fundraiser at Manorlands to tell us something about the hospice itself.

"Sue Ryder Care – Manorlands Hospice is based at Oxenhope, Keighley. It is one of 14 Sue Ryder Care hospices in the UK and each year it cares for almost 650 local people from Keighley, Bradford Airedale, and the dales.

Manorlands Hospice relies on voluntary contributions for the majority of its income and never charges patients for any of the care they receive. The hospice will cost £2.0 million to run in 2008. Over £1.1 million of this needs to be raised from the local community.

Sue Ryder Care is dedicated to helping the people it cares for to get the best from life and we care for the whole of an individual’s needs be they social, psychological, physical or spiritual. We care for people in the area living with cancer and other life limiting illnesses as well as providing support for their families and carers.

The services based at Manorlands Hospice include a 16 bed in-patient unit, a day therapy unit and community team as well as specialist bereavement counsellors and complementary therapists."

It's good to know we are helping a great cause!
